Here's the print head parked. Underneath the print head is a series of wipers, pads, and an ink reservoir. The print head parks directly over the pads (like the cap on a pen) and then the print head gets wiped down by the wipers, and then it spits ink into the reservoir below where it dries up in a sponge. This makes sure that the print head is primed and ready to go. Notice the duct tape in the interrupter to force the thing to think the cover is closed :]



Ah! The 2 magic ribbon cables. I'll solder some kynar wire to these and scope 'em. Hopefully I can find all the important lines
